Goals, Reflection, Career Report

VIA Institute Survey Reflection:

I took a survey on 03/10/2023 on the VIA Institutes website. The survey was meant to help tell us our top strengthens. Then we were tasked to apply these strengths professionally. The top five character strengths I had were, kindness, fairness, forgiveness, leadership, and honesty. These 5 strengths will majorly help me achieve my future career goal of being a GM or VP of a dealership organization. In order to lead and manage a business, a strong leader needs to have a wide variety of character traits. Kindness goes a long way in an organization. Being kind and helping out your employees will make them want to work with you for a long time. They’ll remember how the boss treated them respectfully and was willing to help out. Fairness with employees will also help create a great work environment. Not judging anyone and giving everyone a fair chance will help me succeed in achieving my professional goal. Forgiveness is HUGE for a GM or VP level employee. Being able to forgive employees when they make a mistake will allow for a comfortable work environment where employees aren’t afraid to try different things in order to create a greater good for an organization. Leadership will allow me to achieve my professional goal of being a GM by showcasing that I can lead a large organization of employees. Then lastly, honesty is the BEST characteristic that a GM can possess. Being honest and fair with everyone will allow trust to develop and will create close relationships between employees.

I enjoyed taking the VIA Institute survey and the results made me feel like I’m headed in the right direction to achieve my career goals!
